Our First Four Weeks Were Awesome!

We have just completed our fourth week at Sandy Hill Elementary School and I must say it has been awesome! To be quite honest, I can’t believe we’ve only been in school for four weeks. We spent the summer planning activities and preparing for instruction that would engage and peek our students’ interests.

And we have been successful!

We have had numerous events and we have many more planned. At Sandy Hill Elementary we have approximately 500 students and almost 75 staff members. When you get a group that large together under one roof you are forced to become a family.

And that we have!

Has everything gone exactly as planned? Of course not!

But when you are dealing with over 570 people, and this does not include the numerous parents, guardians and community members, things are bound to happen. But each day we start fresh with the enthusiasm that it will be the best day of the year.

To give some perspective, for those of you on Facebook, take your 500 closest friends, and look through their feeds from the past four weeks. I’m guessing for the most part that there were ups and there were downs. That is a simply a part of life.

I can promise you that at Sandy Hill Elementary School we have infinitely more ups than downs. And every day we are tipping the balance in the positive direction. The photos below will give you just a taste of our first four weeks. And it’s only going to get better!
